DIRLETON CASTLE
Visit one of Scotland’s oldest surviving strongholds. Built in the12th century, Dirleton castle was a magnificent fortified residence to three successive noble families. The gardens of the castle grounds today date from the late 1800s and early 1900s and house a rare ginkgo tree, a species unchanged since the time of the dinosaurs..
